Robert Stevens, CHIEF
EXECUTIVE
In 2003 Robert returned to New Zealand from Australia to take up the appointment
of Chief Executive of Education New Zealand. Between 2000 and 2003, Robert
was employed by the Australian Commonwealth/Federal Government where he
worked as a Director within the International Group of the Australian
Federal Department of Education, Science and Training (AEI, the Australian
Government’s international education network). Prior to moving to
Australia, Robert was employed for five years as the International Manager
of the New Zealand Ministry of Education, where he was responsible for
handling all aspects of the Ministry's formal international engagement.
Prior to joining the Ministry, Robert was employed as Executive Assistant
to Hon John Luxton, Associate Minister of Education, Minister of Commerce
and Minister of Housing; and employed as a Researcher in the Parliamentary
Research Unit of the New Zealand House of Representatives.
Robert has a Master in Public Policy Degree from Victoria University
of Wellington and the Australian National University and a Bachelor of
Science from Victoria University of Wellington.

Stuart Boag, COMMUNICATIONS
DIRECTOR
Stuart started out down on the farm in Canterbury, but about ten years
ago traded the sheepdog for a suit and moved into marketing and project
development, mainly on a contract basis. Moving to Wellington in 1997,
Stuart has worked with a range of clients in areas as diverse as sports
promotion, regional development, transport and defence.
Stuart has been involved in governance in both the school and tertiary
sector, and was project manager for the successful schools IT empowerment
NetDay initiative. In 1999, Stuart spent a year in the Beehive as an advisor
to the then Minister of Education. Stuart joined the Education New Zealand
team at the start of 2003.
Stuart is responsible for ENZ's overall marketing and communications
activity, including media and public relations.

Kathy Phillips, INDUSTRY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME MANAGER
Before joining ENZ Kathy Phillips was involved in the organisational management
of UCOL's international department as well as offshore marketing. Prior
to that she was responsible for the management of admissions into the
Massey University English Language Centre Programmes. Before becoming
involved with the international education industry, Kathy's background
was in sales, marketing and administration in production environments
and the health sector.
Kathy is responsible for the management of current, as well as the development
of future, work programmes for the Export Education Levy and Export Education
Innovation Programmes (in consultation with industry representatives and
stakeholders).

Sarah Cox, STRATEGIC
PROMOTIONS MANAGER
Sarah joined the Education New Zealand team in 2001, previously she taught English in Fukuoka, Japan and worked for the Ministry of Education in Wellington. Sarah's qualifications include a Trinity College of London TESOL Certificate, Bachelor of Arts (Japanese) and Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing.
Sarah is responsible for the management of ENZ’s marketing activities including the PACE marketing programme, generic promotional activities and the industry’s ‘New Zealand Educated’ brand. Sarah also oversees the Work Plans of the offshore NZTE education staff.

Camilla Swan, SCHOLARSHIPS
MANAGER
Camilla Swan came to ENZ after working in the Scholarships offices
of NZVCC and Victoria University of Wellington. Before becoming involved
with scholarships administration she was employed by AMP Financial Services
in their customer service division. Camilla holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Auckland in Spanish
and Italian.
She is responsible for all administration of ENZ Scholarships, which
currently includes:
• New Zealand International Doctoral Research Scholarships
• New Zealand International Undergraduate Fees Scholarships
• New Zealand Postgraduate Study Abroad Awards
• New Zealand Undergraduate Study Abroad Awards
The administration includes:
• Correspondence with interested parties
• Coordination of applications
• Selection meetings
• Pastoral care

Glennys Gwynne, FINANCE
AND OFFICE MANAGER
Glennys has extensive experience in private sector office management and
is responsible for delivering the scheduled programme of administrative
activities and providing administrative support within the organisation.

Michelle Waitzman, COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST
Michelle joined the team at ENZ in July 2008. Originally from Canada, Michelle worked in television production there for over 15 years. After migrating to New Zealand in 2005, she changed career paths to writing and communications.
Her writing portfolio includes two non-fiction books, and contributions to magazines, websites, blogs, textbooks and more.
Michelle will be supplying content for ENZ’s websites, blogs, publications, media releases, newsletters and anything else that requires a few well-chosen words.

Laurette Farr, PROJECT
MANAGER
Laurette has been working at ENZ since Dec 2005 shorlty after returning from Osaka, Japan after a 7 year stay, during which time she owned and managed her own English School.
She holds a Bachelor of Consumer and Applied Sciences and a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing and Tourism from Otago University.
Laurette is responsible for various PACE marketing activities, including offshore promotional events and inbound agent visits for a number of markets such as India, Malaysia and Japan. Laurette has attended a number of offshore fairs, which has helped broaden her knowledge of the activities and markets.
Laurette is also responsibile for the organisational work for NAFSA: Association of International Educators Annual conference that the New Zealand universities attend.

Rahael Tharmatheva, PROJECT COORDINATOR
After completing her studies at Victoria University of Wellington, Rahael worked at the ExxonMobil Head office in Wellington in which she was the Team Leader of the Fuels Pricing Department covering New Zealand and Australia.
Rahael is responsible for the organisation and implementation of inbound agent visits and offshore Educational Fairs and Seminars as part of the PACE marketing plan.

Kimberley Wynbergen, FRONTLINE ADMINISTRATOR
Kimberley joined Education New Zealand in February 2007, after spending 2 years studying Digital Media.
As well as Reception and Telephonist duties, Kimberley is responsible for the Annual Industry Conference, sending Study in New Zealand publications, as well as providing
support to the Marketing, Scholarships and Accounts teams, and is able to help with general enquiries, both via email
and telephone. Kimberley is responsible for updating the ENZ database and
for mailouts from ENZ, including E-News.
